Battleworn American Flag: 308 Bullet Pen
Battleworn American Flag 308 Bullet Pens are made to order current lead time is 7-10 days.
The Battleworn Amerixan Flag 308 Bullet Pens are made from the casings of fired 308 rounds. The casings are first prepped (cleaned and then sandblasted with Aluminum Oxide) and then off gassed (baked) for 30 minutes to insure no contaminants are left behind that would interfere with the Cerakote process. Next the casings get 2 heavy coats of Bright White Cerakote and then flash cured. After that the Stars are applied to the top casing and Stripes applied to the bottom casing. The top casing is coated with NRA Blue Cerakote and the bottom casing is coated with Smith and Wesson Red Cerakote and then flash cured again. After the flash cure both casings are coated with Graphite Black Cerakote and again flash cured. The casing then go through the distress (Battleworn) processes to give it worn look. Next the casings go in the oven for 2 hours at 250 degrees to get fully cured. Once the casings are fully cured they get an acetone bath to insure the Cerakote properly adhered to the casing and the Cerakote layers adhered to each other. Cerakote is a ceramic paint and if applied properly will not be affected by thinners or acetone. If the casings are good to go they are cleaned and assembled into pens.
Our 308 Pens come with Black Ink. The ink cartridges are replaceable, which can be done by firmly gripping the top and bottom casing and pull away from the center completely pulling the pen apart, unscrew the ink cartridge, and replace it with a new one. The 308 pens take a Cross Pen style ink cartridge.
